The R5 specification Mitsubishi has been designed and built to comply to FIA R5 regulations. Although applied for, homologation is yet to be confirmed and therefore, the car is not eligible to contest International status events.
However, the car was initially conceived as an R5 specification regional rally car and consequently, plans to achieve this are moving ahead irrespective of it gaining international homologation. This requires the ASN (motorsport governing body) in each country to approve the car so that it may run in regional 'National' status events within that territory.
